Smell: Medium aroma. Semi-bright apples – some pulp, some sulphur.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Smooth, pulpy apples that are naturally semi-sweet and dessert-like. Fleshy with low tannin and only a touch of acidity. Some sulphur notes.
After Taste: Apple becomes a bit more sour in the aftertaste. A little bit of earthiness. Longer lingering profile with the fermentation and peel elements becoming a bit more present.
On ice: Reduced overall intensity and flavour.
Additional Notes: The Hard Pressed Apple Cider by Bordertown Cider and Winery is a simple, smooth dessert apple tasting offering. Amongst the apple notes, it has some sulphur and fermentation notes. A bit of peel in the end with a longer aftertaste. “Right down the middle” on the scale for sweetness and other eleemnts.
