Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Pulpy apples. Sulfur and fermentation notes.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. Aged red dessert apples, in particular red delicious notes. Tonic aspects. Hints of the fermentation process come through.
After Taste: Apples dwindle. Leaving some gritter peel notes and tonic elements in the mouth.
On ice: Less body. Apple flavours watered down.
Additional Notes: Block Three’s Offshoot Dry Cider is the inaugural cider made in the St. Jacob’s Brewery. A light bodied cider, it tastes like its made with mostly with red apple varieties, in particular red delicious. You get some fermentation notes coming through, but it doesn’t really taste like it has alcohol in it. Tonic notes and elements as well. Has essences of a lager and has a pub-drinking vibe, which fits in well with their brewery. Middle of the road offering.
