Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Bold earthy ginger root. Mild sweet apple.
Initial Taste: Strong bite from ginger and some acidity. Very forward earthy and dry ginger flavour. Some tannic apple notes.
After Taste: Ginger flavour remains strong, becomes a tad sweeter in nature. Apple notes also somewhat sweeter and creamier. Ends with ginger flavour lingering a long time, including in throat.
On ice: Carbonation is dropped, becomes almost still. Ginger intensity reduced but not flavour.
Additional Notes: Beaver Valley’s Organic Ginger is not messing around with ginger flavour. With a very heavy and forward ginger flavour from start to finish, it dominates the palate. Very earthy and root vegetable tasting, so if you don’t like ginger, this is not for you. But because of its intensity, it could have a cult following for those who do like ginger. Ice helps to reduce the intensity, becomes slightly more ginger-ale tasting as a result.
