Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Strong aroma. Heavy hops and some bitterness. Some citrahops. Mild apple flesh.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Quick hops flavour and some bitterness. Sour green apple notes. Tartness. Hints of pine and lemon.
After Taste: Bitterness weakens. Fleshy apples come through, with some caramelized notes. Citrus (including lemon and lime notes) that linger.
On ice: Carbonation almost gone. Thinner body. Less bitterness. More citrus/lime note forward.

Additional Notes:  Bad Apple Brewing + Cornerfield Winery’s collaboration cider, Wet Hopped and Hard, is different from most hopped ciders available in Ontario. Having more bitterness and hop forwardness than most ciders we’ve had in this category, it’s very IPA-inspired, so you may have to be a beer fan to appreciate this. The hops dominate the flavour profile but do become more mild in the finish. Fleshy and semi-caramelized apple notes comprise the base. Some pine and citrus notes, so it would seem like a variety of hops were used in creating this.
