Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Light aroma. Sweet bourbon and creamy vanilla. Bright dessert apples. Mild smoky notes.
Initial Taste: No bite. Pulpy, bright dessert and semi-sharp apples. Creamy vanilla layers. Mild bitterness.
After Taste: Apple base remains but they become more delicate. Fleshy pear notes. Some barrel woody notes emerge. Finishes clean with mild oak notes lingering.
On ice: Less apple and pear notes. Thinner body. Less flavour overall.
Additional Notes: Apple Falls’ Whisky Jack is a very delicate and soft spirit-barrel aged offering – so don’t let the description throw you off. Starting with bright apples, then to a dry pear, it moves quickly to softer whisky notes and some woodiness from the barrel-aging. It’s a bit of a journey cider with the flavours blending and evolving along the way. Cleans out well, a very sessionable offering for a traditionally harsher category of ciders. On-ice, you lose a lot of the essence of what the cider is; we do not recommend.
