Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Bright peppermint/candy cane. Minimal apple.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. Bright candy cane/peppermint notes. Sugared candy. Pulpy, bright dessert apples that are decently crisp.
After Taste: Peppermint notes become a bit earthier. Slight bitterness here. Apples become a bit drier here. Ends with lingering menthol.
On ice: Reduces mint, but makes the mint more “cooling” on the palate.
Additional Notes: 401 Cider’s Candy Cane Cider is exactly as promised – it tastes like a candy cane dunked in apple cider. The candy cane tastes more sugared at the start, becoming a bit more like a straight peppermint note in the finish. Apples are bright and pulpy, becoming drier as they go on. Ice makes the mint reduced, but also makes it taste more “cooling menthol”-like. A Christmas cider if there ever was one.
