Smell: Strong aroma, apple with oak. Spicy notes.
Initial Taste: Strong bite. Very strong alcohol presence that builds in intensity. Spiciness that takes over the pallet.
After Taste: Very astringent. Mature apple flavour comes through. Oak and vanilla notes. Lingers a long time.
On ice: Cuts some flavour and a significant amount of astringency. Does not linger as long.
Additional Notes: Calvados Boulard is a bold apple brandy that will wake you up! With a strong flavour and alcohol presence that builds in intensity for a long time after sipping, it is a very full-bodied spirit. Calvados stays in the mouth and the throat for a long period. It is thick and has a nice mature apple finish. The spiciness and the astringency of the spirit may burn your mouth.
