Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Tart, muddled raspberry. Bright dessert notes.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from acidity and tartness. Oak and funk are quickly noticeable. Tart, earthy raspberries. A mild hint of natural sweetness. Fleshy apple base.
After Taste: Apple weakens while raspberry holds on. Tartness remains. Ends dry. Minerality at the end.
On ice: Reduced body.
Additional Notes: West Avenue’s Bohemian Raspberry is a barrel-aged raspberry cider that is funky, tart and dry. Right from the start, you get a lot of raspberry, that stays the entire journey strong. The apples are most noticeable in the middle, and seem fleshy, but not the prominent flavour notes here. Decently tart and with some acidity, it’s a very gripping cider for the palate. Some funk and oak notes, presumably from the barreling.
