Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Medium aroma. Bitter sweet apples. Caramelization / baked apples. Mild acidity and tannins.
Initial Taste: Light bite. Bittersweet apple forward. Pulpy apples. Caramelized and baked aspects. Natural sweetness. Dried apricot notes. Mildly tangy.
After Taste: Becomes a slightly drier apple. Some peel and earthy hints. Long lingering flavour.
On ice: Thinner body + less carbonation. More astringency. More wine like. Tangier.

Additional Notes:  Once again Cold Creek brings a taste of Europe with their 2020 vintage of their Cuvée Madeline. Inspired by Brittany, France and Irish ciders, this heavy-bodied, naturally sweet cider relies heavily on bittersweet apples for the base. Tannic and a slight acidity add depth. Unique notes of dried apricot and caramelization that make this smoother overall. Carbonation is heavier but still light in the mouth. Slightly gritty and tannic like old world styles are known for. Little to zero alcoholic and fermentation notes, this is one clean cider.
