Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Medium aroma. Fermentation and funk. Creamy fleshy apple.
Initial Taste: Mild bite from carbonation. A semi-crisp and acidic apple that is naturally bright and fleshy that comes out quickly. Tonic notes and astringency. Bitterness.
After Taste: Apple dissipates rather quickly, leaving some fermentation notes that lingers.
On ice: Little reduction in carbonation. Not much difference for flavour, less harsh elements overall.

Additional Notes:  Twin Pines’ Hammer Bent Scrumpy is a very dry, authentic scrumpy experience that features bright apples amongst the prevalent bitter and harsher elements (like fermentation notes). The apple is also slightly creamy – which we think is unique for a scrumpy – but does not linger long. Semi-heavy on the fermentation process, it adds acidity, astringency and bitter notes. A good representation of the British style that’s not as overpowering as other scrumpies we have had in the past.
