Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Medium aroma. Slightly acidic and bright apples.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Bright apples with some tannin and acidic notes but extra clean. Slightly tart. Some peel grit and flavour.
After Taste: Becomes drier and slightly less apple focused. Some fermentation notes add depth. Semi-long lingering with a clean finish. Slight nut-like hints.
On ice: Much thinner on ice. Reduced flavour overall.

Additional Notes:  In collaboration with the iconic Canadian Rock Band, The Tragically Hip, the Road Apples by Thornbury is a very crisp, clean cider with some tannic and acidic elements. A little drier and brighter than their original, it finishes dry, clean and with some rather unique nutty notes. Smooth just like the music of the hip with some grit and depth like the songs as well. Fits well into the emerging definition of what an Ontario cider is, though it is rolling out to be available across Canada.
