Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Bright, tannic apples. Nutty and oak notes. Mild astringency.
Initial Taste: Light bite from acidity. Quick bright and tannic apples. Oak and wood notes. Crisp and tart.
After Taste: Apples become slightly drier. Mild astringency undertones come out. Clean, dry finish with lingering apple tannins that tickle the palate.
On ice: Reduced carbonation. Thinner mouthfeel and less tannins.
Additional Notes: Duxbury’s Five Metre Scrum is a dry cider offering with a nice oak/wood note twist, being double oaked. Very crisp, acidic and tannic, this is a very satisfying traditional cider to consume. The apples are bright, but dry, and it has a mild astringency that is more prevalent near the finish. A rich but smooth cider with a lot of depth, and on par for Duxbury portfolio of offerings.
