Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Strong aroma. Funky, sour, pungent. Tannic apples.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Quickly acidic. Punchy and funky apple notes. Some mild bitter undertones.
After Taste: Apples become smoother, somewhat creamy. Acidity noticeably diminishes. Buttery note to finish.
On ice: Reduced carbonation and acidity. Less forward elements.

Additional Notes:  The Session Cider by Steel Town is a noticeably different flagship cider than many Ontario Cideries offer as theirs. Sharing many elements with Spanish sidras, it is acidic, funky and punchy, with a bit of pungency (but don’t let that scare you, it adds a brilliant depth). One unique thing is the clean buttery flavour that emerges at the finish that lingers awhile. A satisfying dry cider.
