Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Funky and tart cherries, earthy elements. Muddled apple. Some warming spices.
Initial Taste: Light bite. Smooth apples with fresh, balanced (not too tart nor sweet) ripe dark cherries flavours.
After Taste: Apple reduces leaving more red-wine like elements from the dark cherries. Becomes drier and some fermentation elements noticeable. Some damp oak and spice like notes (cardamon and clove) appear near finish.
On ice: Reduced overall flavour. Cherry stripped away more than apple.
Additional Notes: The Rouge by Banjo is unique for a cherry cider. Smooth, light carbonation, balanced cherries that are on-par with the apple flavours. Some tart/tangy elements, with a little drier and slight red-wine finish. Natural, funky, woody and obviously crafted from the farm. A relatively delicate cherry cider compared to others, as it is not heavily sweetened like many, rather with just a touch of maple syrup. Very traditionally-inspired fruit cider.
