Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Sweet apple with hints of tart cherry.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Mix of semi-tart cherry and semi-sweet apples. Tart cherry becomes more powerful, then dissipates.
After Taste: Apple becomes more present in the aftertaste. Becomes drier with a somewhat more gritty mouth feel in the finish – with some tart elements (both apple and cherry).
On ice: Slightly more watered down with less flavour, but not a huge difference.
Additional Notes: Semi-tart, candied and clean, the Tart Cherry Smaak by Rood Apples reminds us of a cherry jolly rancher (but not as sugary). Balanced between the apple and the cherry, it’s not overpowering and easy to drink. Carbonation is pretty strong, which helps the flavours pop.
