Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Crisp, sharp apple. Tart, green apple note. Lively sweet cinnamon.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. A quick, very bright sharp apple, with crisp red and green varietal notes. Medium cinnamon that is sweet and a touch savoury. Hints of nutmeg.
After Taste: Apples remain crisp, taste fresh and minor fermentation elements. Cinnamon lingers, builds in the throat a bit.
On ice: Thinner bodied. Apple intensity weakens, as does spicing.
Additional Notes: A taste of Fall, Howell Road’s Apple Cider Donut is inspired by the apple cider donuts made at and well known for at the Brantview Apples estate. It’s got a bold, crisp apple base, with fresh and fermented elements. You get a ton of apple characteristics, including notes from green and red varietals, even hints of fresh pear. A bit tart, it’s off-dry, in case there were concerns about it being too sweet being based on a pastry.
