Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Crisp, bright, pulpy apple. Mild fermentation/boozy notes. Oak-like notes.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Sharp acidity off the top, decently tannic and some astringency. Clean, bright, crisp apple that has many bittersharp notes. A touch of natural sweetness. Boozy aspects.
After Taste: Apples become a bit drier. Vanilla and woody undertones. Long lingering crisp apple notes.
On ice: Reduced body and crispness.
Additional Notes: As a part of their elevated Danforth Rd series – heavily focused on serious cider apple single varietals -, Loch Mór introduces an apple blend into the mix, This is a dry cider, that has a note of natural sweetness, but is bright overall. Very crisp, it starts off with a sharp acidity and tannins that aren’t too gripping. It tastes heavy bittersharps to us, but we do get some of the bittersweet characteristics that the label says it has, in the finish. Its boozy, tastes boozier than 6.4%. You get a bit of the barreling in a vanilla and woody/oak like presence. A long lingering, crisp apple profile. Golden tasting.
