Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Bitters and herbs. Slightly acidic and rustic apples. Touch of citrus.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Smooth, semi-acidic apples that are crisp and caramelized – balanced with orange bitters. A defined rosemary upfront that dissipates to generic herbs, but not overpowering.
After Taste: Becomes a little more rustic, herbed and fermented in the semi-long lingering aftertaste.
On ice: Slightly reduced, a touch more herby on-ice.
Additional Notes: Salt Spring Wild’s Bitter Orange Rosemary is part of their Botanical Series. With a gorgeous transparent rustic orange colour, its a balanced offering between crisp, uplifting and caramelized apple and a blend of orange bitters and rosemary herbs. A longer-lingering aftertaste, it’s rustic, clean and lightly carbonated. This has a number of classic, heritage and traditional apple cider elements, contrasting with the modern herbs and botanicals. Very unique, especially the composure, balance and body.
