Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Bright, sharp apples. A bit of funk. Some sulphur.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation with a bit of acidity. Slightly rustic pear – possibly bosc – notes. Bright dessert apples. A layer of funk. Smooth body.
After Taste: Short aftertaste with a touch of a thicker pear finish. Remaining funk and sulphur after fruits leave.
On ice: Thinner and more noticeable bright notes.
Additional Notes: The Pear Apple by Windmill Ridge Cider Company is a simple blend of the two pome fruits.\ Slightly funky and a touch of acidity, both the pear and the apple have dessert-like qualities. Light body, natural and bright, it doesn’t hold a lot of complexity overall. Touch of fermentation and syrup notes in the finish. A drier pear – not artificially sweetened/flavoured like many similar pear ciders on the market.
