Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Medium aroma. Pulpy, medley of apple notes. Dry.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Some crisp acidity. Yeasty, powdery apple base, with fruity esters. Dry, pulpy apples with a hint of earthiness. Notes of banana and pear.
After Taste: Apples become a bit softer as they dwindle. Yellow apple characteristics here. Powdery mouthfeel lingers.
On ice: Thinner body. Slightly reduced apple.

Additional Notes: The 2024 vintage of Cold Creek’s Cuvée Madeline is a drier apple experience than in previous versions, but still retaining its decently crisp apple base. This version is heavy on the yeast flavours and that amounts to a powdery mouthfeel and fruit esters. We get along with a medley of pulpy apple notes upfront, a bit of banana and pear. We also find it turns to have some more golden characteristics in the finish, like from a yellow variety. A bit of an earthy, gritty apple within too.
