Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Medium aroma. Gripping red grape notes. Boozy. Hint of dry apple.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. Low tannin, but some acidity. Quickly red grape forward, transitioning to adding some jammy strawberry notes. Some astringency and booziness.
After Taste: A clean golden russet comes through. Grape notes become juicer and add slightly more berry characteristics. Clean finish.
On ice: Dramatically watered down. Less bold flavours, especially grape.

Additional Notes: As part of their small batch series, their #3 is called Modern Love – a golden russet cider aged on red grape skins. This is a smooth cider, with some booziness to remind you it is 9.3%. Low tannin, it does not have much from the apples or the grapes. It starts off quickly with the promised red grape notes – adding in some jammy strawberry upfront. The golden russet notes emerge into the middle and after, as the boldness of the grape notes dwindles. It becomes more of a blend of berry notes in the finish. A clean cider overall with a lighter body than you’d expect for grape skin aging.
