Cider Crate Tasting Notes

Smell: Light aroma. Bright, pulpy, fleshy dessert apple. Pear drop/banana notes.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Low tannin, low acidity. Light bodied, pub-style refreshing apple base. Semi-bright and semi-sweet red variety dessert apple, with some green apple characteristics.
After Taste: Becomes softer as it goes along, but dwindles quickly. Apple base is rather pulpy. Clean, quick finish.
On ice: Thinner bodied and reduced carbonation.

Additional Notes: As a part of their Side Hustle series that are non-beer offerings, Beyond the Pale’s collaboration with Farmgate Cider is their first cider offering available at their taproom. An easy-going cider, it is a lighter pub-style cider that fits in well with their beer portfolio – easy to switch to this after a few beer pints. This one is great for their patio (or inside – check out their stock market Thursdays). A low acidity, low tannin cider, its pulpy apple base is easy to drink, nor overly complex – easy to drink while watching sports or conversing. Off-dry, it has a bit of natural sweetness.
