Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Light aroma. Dry apple with some grit and earthiness.
Initial Taste: No bite. A quickly bone dry cider that has red apple characteristics (label says McIntosh added). Some peel.
After Taste: Some natural earthiness comes out. Hint of yellow apple characteristics. Slightly creamy finish.
On ice: Thinner bodied. Less acidity. Less red apple characteristics.
Additional Notes: StoneCrop Acres’s Stone Cold Cider is a straight-forward, still apple cider made with local McIntoshes. Featuring some of the red apple characteristics upfront, it retains these and adds a bit of yellow as it goes on. Earthy and gritty, this is a bone dry cider with limited tannin and acidity. Stillness might throw off some cider consumers.
