Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Strong aroma. Brown sugar & maple. Bruised apple. Sweet caramel
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. Bruised, murky apple. Burnt toffee and brown sugar. Hints of maple with a cloying sweetness.
After Taste: Maple becomes a bit more prominent. Caramel square flavour emerges and lingers longer than all other aspects, for a while.
On ice: Thinner body. More apple focused, less maple and caramel.

Additional Notes:  Ironwood’s Dulce Maple and caramel cider is a unique combination of flavours, that to be honest, are confused and do not vibe well in the upfront of the cider to us. It comes across as murky and unbalanced initially, elements not in harmony. Also the burnt toffee, brown sugar and maple flavours upfront are cloying. As it progresses, it does become more cohesive cider with a more defined maple; as well a distinguishable caramel square note that stays a while, well after everything else dissipates. Apple base is bruised, unfiltered and a bit murky tasting.
