Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Extra crisp and bright apple. Some earthines, booziness and astringency.
Initial Taste: No bite. A thicker mouthfeel of syrupy extra crisp and clean apples. Bright, peel and flesh apple characteristics. Some sweet notes, slightly caramelized with no acidity or tannins.
After Taste: A hint of earthiness from the apples comes through. A booziness that lingers in the throat.
On ice: Thinner mouthfeel. More juice-like and more like a traditional cider.
Additional Notes: Cold Creek’s first attempt at an Ice Cider, their 2024 offering is a bit lower ABV than your standard ice cider at 8.4%, and it’s not as sweet as your traditional ones, but a unique interpretation of the style that pays a lot of respect to the Quebec versions. It’’s semi-caramelized in taste, but extra clean and crisp. The thicker, syrupy mouthfeel is familiar for the style. A rich apple body and a booziness that lingers in the throat, well after the notes leave the mouth.
