Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Creamy and gritty golden russet. Pastry essences. Some astringency and fermentation.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Quick crisp and tangy golden russet. Fermentation, earthiness and grit. Tannins and acidity add depth and coat the palate.
After Taste: Apple notes remain mainly the same, becoming a bit brighter yet drier. Faint baking spice-like notes. Earthy, natural finish beaming with yellow apple characteristics.
On ice: Slightly thinner mouthfeel and less apple grit.
Additional Notes: Banjo’s Heart of Gold is a masterclass on how to use a single varietal effectively in a cider. A crisp, flavourful offering made with only golden russets and without compromise. Apples are bright and golden tasting, but also, gritty and natural in notes. It also is a warming cider from the booziness and astringency. Tannins and acidity add depth for the palate to decipher. A little easier to consume than others Golden Russets which at times can be harsh.
