Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Funky, pulpy and bright with some woody/barreling notes.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Sourness and sulphur. Semi-creamy apples that are pulpy. Some acidic and funky notes. Dry white wine elements that are slightly bright.
After Taste: Becomes more fermentation and oak-focused. A bit of a lingering aftertaste because of the barreling notes.
On ice: Reduced carbonation and overall feel.
Additional Notes: 1818 Cider’s Paradise Road is a French-oaked, chardonnay barrel cider offering that’s on the funky, semi-sour side. Very dry, you get the farmhouse notes throughout. Apples are pulpy and a bit creamy. White wine chardonnay elements define as the taste profile goes on. Barreling really shows up in the aftertaste as the apple dissipates. On ice, it loses some character.
