Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Boozy cherries. Crisp apples.
Initial Taste: Mild bite from acidity that builds. Infused, bright, but decently tart cherries. Crisp, fleshy apples.
After Taste: Light barreling notes come through. Apple base is less noticeable here. Cherries become slightly less tart, but linger a bit.
On ice: Thinner bodied. A lot of flavour reduced, including bourbon.
Additional Notes: 1818 Farm & Cidery’s Last Call Volume Two is a bright, tart cherry-infused still (no carbonation) cider. Aged in bourbon barrels, the impact is light, adding a bit of spirit essences and astringency, but it’s not too overpowering. The apple base is crisp, but the cherries are more forward the entire journey. It’s got a bit of tartness and acidity, but still light bodied, and easy to drink overall. A mature cherry cider.
