Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Gritty yellow apple peel, some earthiness. Bright.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Bright extra dry apples that are slightly tannic with a bit of acidity. Some natural bitterness. Yellow apple peel + grit.
After Taste: Lingers a long time with a peel and some fermentation finish. Stays mostly the same, but bitterness weakens.
On ice: Less carbonation. Bitterness is reduced.
Additional Notes: As part of their single varietal series, Clafeld’s Ginger Gold is an early apple (August) offering that is extra dry, slightly tannic with a touch of acidity. A natural bitterness that greets you, it has a lot of yellow apple grit to it. Some fermentation notes remind you it’s 6%. If too dry or bitter for you, try their Ginger Gold Sweet that brightens and sweetens this ginger gold base up.
