Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. A medley of hop characteristics. Some tropical notes. Pulpy, apple base.
Initial Taste: Mild bite. Gritty hops that are a bit resin-tasting & bitter. Sharp apples with some acidity. Semi-creamy apples that are bright. Pine notes.
After Taste: Hops become less intense, and become a bit more tropical in nature – including lychee. Apples remain the same and bright. Some saline notes.
On ice: Hop elements reduced, less bold. Less apple acidity as well. Overall reduced.
Additional Notes: Two Blokes’ Pomona’s Pour is a Pink Boots collaboration cider that is dry-hopped with some serious and lesser-known/used hop varieties (especially in dry-hopped ciders like el dorado). The hops definitely add some grit and bitterness to this one, but they do become a bit more tropical fruit (like lychee) in nature as the sipping journey goes on. Also some resin and pine-like notes, making this more towards an IPC (India pale cider). The apples are sharp, a bit acidic, but still semi-creamy and bright.
