Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Sweet green apple. Banana esters.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. Crisp apple has caramel and banana-like notes. Boozy. Sharp apples. Heavy mouth feel from thick elements.
After Taste: Crab apples become more astringent and drying on the palate. Mild citrus elements like lemon. Vanilla and bourbon like hints as it finishes. Bitter leather notes also here.
On ice:
Additional Notes: Sage Bird’s 100% Virigina Hewe’s Crabapple cider is an incredibly unique cider, that was softer, but not less impactful, than anticipated. We got a lot of different notes in this – banana, caramel, bourbon and vanilla. It gets more astringent and drying as the experience goes on like one would expect from a crab apple cider, but it’s still softer than other apple varieties. Worth telling others about this one.
