Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Pulpy, bright, sharp apple.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite from carbonation. A clean, sharp apple. A bright acidity that adds to the minor crispness. Pear drop/banana ester and grass-like notes.
After Taste: A booziness and fermented apple note emerges here. Very dry finish. Average aftertaste length.
On ice: Thinner bodied. Less earthy notes. “Cleaner”.
Additional Notes: Slabtown’s Founder’s Zero is a 0G added sugar version of their flagship Founder’s Dry. This is indeed a dry cider overall, with no real residual sweetness coming through either. The apples are sharp, clean, and a bit acidic. The fermentation notes and a booziness comes out in the aftertaste. Not overly crisp, it would be good as a base for cider cocktails. Some pear drop and grassy-like notes add to the depth of it.
