Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Thick, dark blueberry jam.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Hefty, muddled blueberry with a wild streak. A strong dose of berries – naturally sweet – with crisp apple notes secondary. A thick mouthfeel. Boozy notes.
After Taste: Blueberry becomes drier and a bit more wild and earthy. Tangy blueberry notes that stay extended on the palate.
On ice: Reduced mouthfeel and flavour.
Additional Notes: Applewood Winery’s Wild Blueberry Cider does not hold back in any sense. It has an incredibly hefty serving of natural blueberry within – and its 10% so it is imperial and strong. The blueberries taste muddled, jammy and naturally sweet (think blueberry pie filling) – with a hint of promised wild elements. With a thick mouthfeel, you can tell they did not skimp on adding blueberry juice to the cider. The apples are secondary and taste a bit crisp. Boozy undertones and a long lasting flavour profile.
