Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Lime zest. Sharp apple. Pear-like note.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. A quick intense lime zest with some pulp and juice notes. A fleshy dessert apple is light as the base.
After Taste: Lime becomes smoother, slightly more juice-focused. An herbiness and saline note comes out at the finish.
On ice: Reduced zest intensity. A bit less saline and herb-like notes.
Additional Notes: Ernie’s Lime Rickey by Ernest Cider Co is a very lime-zest forward experience, from start to finish. You get lime zest, pulp and juice notes – doesn’t skimp on the titular flavour. The apple base is there, pretty standard for many of Ernest’s cider offerings. It says there is a hint of juniper, but we really only get a generic herbiness near the finish, along with some saline-like notes.
