Smell: Medium aroma. Pulpy apple that’s dry, slightly earthy. Mild sulphur + minerality.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Dry apple that’s earthy and with some gritty. Fleshy sharp apples with some peel notes. Some acidity, a touch of tannins.
After Taste: Apple becomes a bit brighter but dwindles. Light lingering tannins.
On ice: Reduced mouth feel and tannins. Slightly weakened apple base.
Additional Notes: Hall’s High & Dry is indeed a dry cider that is orchard-driven in how fresh apple characteristics this is. You get some earthy apple notes, peel and flesh. It becomes a bit brighter at the finish. Sharp apples, it has some tannins, some acidity, but nothing too heavy. A straightforward cider to consume.
