Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Light aroma. Bright, crisp apple. Riesling wine notes.
Initial Taste: Medium bite. Quick riesling notes and wine astringency. Dry apple. Grass and honeysuckle.
After Taste: Becomes more apple focused, but the wine astringency and undertones remain.
On ice: Softer and thinner. Takes of the wine/booze edge. A bit more cider-like.
Additional Notes: This 10% riesling infused apfelwein (a German style of cider) by Weingut Adolf Storzel has a blend with 10% reisling wine, and it definitely leans towards the wine world, with a dry base and a strong astringency throughout. This 2019 vintage features a lot of wine notes, with cider being secondary at times. The apples are dry, but still bright.
