Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Creamy, crisp apple. Semi-soft. Melon hints.
Initial Taste: Mild bite, semi-tingly. Dry, earthy apple, a lot of flesh but some peel. A forward acidity. Honeydew notes.
After Taste: A saison-pepper-like flavour emerges. Some fermentation notes. Ends on more apple peel. Somewhat dank finish, that’s longer than most.
On ice: Cleaner. Less bold and rich notes. More apple flesh.
Additional Notes: Chudleigh’s single varietal Kerr Cider is made with the lesser known Kerr apple variety with apples grown in their orchard. Featuring creamy apples, it’s very dry and with a bit of earthy and fermentation notes. Flesh heavy but with peel and some tannins. Sharper acidity helps guide the flavours. Has unique honeydew and saison/pepper-like notes. A tingly, carbonated, dry cider.
