Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Bright medley of apple characteristics- including peel and flesh. Hint of fermentation.
Initial Taste: No bite. Sharp, acidic, bright apple notes. Clean, semi-crisp.
After Taste: A quick bitterness here, but it fizzles out. Apple becomes more fleshy here. A honey-like note at the end, as well as some saline notes.
On ice: Bitterness and acidity reduces. Little flavour changes.
Additional Notes: Rise & Ruin’s Sundown is a single-varietal cider, though the bottle does not disclose what this is, but we feel its safe to say its a bittersharp variety. You get peel and flesh notes throughout, but it is more flesh-oriented in the finish. No bite, but some natural bitterness that grips. Semi-crisp, semi-dry, it’s a decently clean cider overall.
