Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Light aroma. Bittersharp apples. Hints of vanilla. Some astringency.
Initial Taste: Light bite. Vanilla quickly present, is smooth. Some astringency. Pulpy, dessert apples.
After Taste: Some bourbon notes emerge here and they linger in the throat. Vanilla becomes a bit cloying, sweeter here. Vanilla and bourbon really end this cider, little apple here.
On ice: A slightly thinner mouthfeel and less apple.
Additional Notes: Thornbury’s Vanilla Bourbon Cider is an imperial cider being extra strong at 11% so be careful when you start the bottle. This cider drifts between boozy and sweet notes, on top of a pulpy, dessert apple base. Vanilla is bold upfront, and it becomes sweeter, a bit cloying as it goes on. The bourbon notes are smooth, and a bit astringent, with general boozy notes throughout. A sweeter cider overall, with strong elements along with a high abv.
