Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Medium aroma. Tobacco and heavy dark berry. Bold red grape. Astringency.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Black currant, tobacco and leather notes. Gritty pear skin. Tannic, full-bodied red grape flavours.
After Taste: Bold aspects become smoother. Pear is more flesh focused and slightly more juicy. Red grape aspects less tannic and more plump. Lingering aging elements.
On ice: Much thinner body. Flavours reduced. Wine elements and essence stripped.

Additional Notes:  Ev Eclectic’s Pear-vençal is a bold, syrah wine-infused perry that features a lot of flavour notes we aren’t used to for these styles. With much stronger, more robust elements upfront that include notes of tobacco and leather (standard for syrah wines), it leads into a smoother, more juice-focused experience in the finish. Pear is more peel focused, moving towards the flesh in the end. Lingering fermenting/aging elements remain. Ice strips and thins this perry that takes a lot of its essence and purpose. Something that may take a bit to comprehend (so research syrah wines if you’ve never tried them before to better understand).
