Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Hefty sage. Fruity blackberry. A hint of dessert apples
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. A quick explosion of sweet blackberry with a strong but not overly earthy sage. Dessert apples are present but not primary. Zippy lime-like notes.
After Taste: Becomes more sage and savoury in the aftertaste. A semi-long lingering finish. Slightly more smokey, probably from the sage.
On ice: Blackberry reduced.
Additional Notes: The County Cider Legacy Series Blackberry Sage is the latest in their legacy series of elevated, unique ciders. It starts pretty blackberry heavy – with the sage being stronger in the aftertaste. Its got a zippy note, and lime-like flavours, but there shouldn’t be any lime in this. Crisp and gripping, even with minimal traditional apple taste. Less sweet than a traditional County, similar to the rest of the Legacy line. The sage almost tricks you into it being cooler, even when it warms up. The sage is savoury tasting.
