Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Medium aroma. Mixed berry with notes of funk and acetic aspects. Strawberry dominate. Light dessert apple.
Initial Taste: Light bite. Bright, semi-sour apple quickly. Moves to a medley of berries. Acidity and a hint of tartness here.
After Taste: Becomes more raspberry and strawberry focused. Apples become smoother but less noticeable here. Hints of fermentation and funk. Tingly, light mouthfeel to finish.
On ice: Thinner body. Berries and apple flavours are reduced.

Additional Notes:  Heartwood’s Spontaneous Soirée is a lighter mouthfeel cider with a fun and breezy mix of three berries. At first the berries are a medley and generic in nature – becoming more raspberry and strawberry tasting in the finish. Apples are secondary here, a bit sour upfront, becoming smoother in the end. A tingly mouthfeel, it’s a lighter offering, with hints of fermentation and funk in good Heartwood tradition.
