Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Funk and oak. Acidic + tannic apples. Some red wine astringency.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. A forward acidity, with quick dry red wine notes – some wine astringency too. Heavy oak/wood aspects. Hint of apple tannins and pulpy apple flesh.
After Taste: Becomes less astringent, more red wine + grape nuances appear. Apples weaken. Ends bone dry, mostly on the red wine aspects.
On ice: Very watered down – strips a lot of key aspects.
Additional Notes: Ernest’s Oaky Rosé is as promised but also one of the more red wine focused Rosé ciders you’ll have. Very bone dry, it features a lot of red wine + grape aspects; as well as a lot of oak/wood and barreling characteristics. Minimal apples that are mostly upfront, they are tannic and a bit pulpy. A mature offering overall. Ice strips this of its essence – not recommended. Flavour forward with a lot depth but not necessarily too intense.
