Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Bright semi-acidic apple. Juicy with woody elements
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Quickly acidic and slightly pulpy and earthy. Sharpness that starts with a hint of tartness. Peel tannins and grit.
After Taste: Becomes more sour with green and crab apple-like notes. More apple forward and cleaner here Almost some pear-like elements in the end. Finishes dry and full of flavour.
On ice: Slight reduction in flavour, more acidic.
Additional Notes: Brooker’s Cider 2020 Batch #1 is a barrel fermented Pet Nat with a lot of character. It starts smooth and a bit bright, then quickly builds to and then out of an acidic bite to a more sour, but very juicy apple forward finish. Clean (though it has a lot of trub), it’s very flavourful, which continues to grow as you drink it. Rustic elements all the way through. Traditional tastes but unique apple characteristics.
