Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Musty, ‘raw’ earthy smell with minor sweet notes. Overall, very mild aromas.
Initial Taste: Mild bite and some tartness. Malty. Flavour from apple flesh noticeable. Some bitter, more natural ‘earthy’ flavours from the fermentation. Not much sweetness initially noticeable.
After Taste: Malty notes remain on the palate. Gets drier in taste and feel. Some sour apple flavours emerge. Becomes slightly sweeter with a long lingering aftertaste.
On ice: Less carbonation on ice. Flavour is weakened, with less malt and bitter notes.
Additional Notes: Overall, Pommies Farmhouse is a very natural tasting, true-to-the-ingredients cider, that highlights the brilliant flavour notes that come from the earth growing and fermentation processes. It is a very smooth cider to consume, as it is a nice balance between sweet, sour and bitter flavours.
