Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong, musty and acidic heritage apples.
Initial Taste: Light bite, followed by heritage semi-tart and acidic apple. Earthy and musty.
After Taste: Remains quite smooth. Apple dissipates quickly, but does remain on the pallet. Mild vinegar undertones.
On ice: Almost removes the carbonation. Becomes lighter in nature with less apple.
Additional Notes: A mature offering, it is not as dry as a Normandy cidre, but has a lot of elements of one. The Windswept Northern Spy is full flavour, acidic but not overpowering natural, unfiltered cider. A slow-sipper, sophisticated offering, so drink in moderation. Don’t mind the sediment at the bottom. A nice addition to their single-varietal family.
