Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Strong aroma. Musty/cellared and earthy. Tannic heritage apple notes.
Initial Taste:  Medium bite from acidity and carbonation. Quickly earthy, musty, and the fermentation process noticable. Tastes cellared and with a lot of tannic/rustic notes. Medley of heritage apple tastes, including some crab apple notes.
After Taste: All elements remain the same but dissipate considerably quickly, to become a slight bit smoother. Very dry finish. Bread notes.
On ice: Cuts carbonation a lot. Becomes ‘cleaner’ to consume.

Additional Notes: The Legacy 1642 from West Avenue is by most accounts, not a beginner cider. With a lot of characteristics from old-world techniques, you can taste the yesteryears in it. Very earthy, musty – tastes very cellared – and even a bit astringent, it’s a delightful cider to those with the palate for and experience with these very traditional cider styles. Has Spanish and French cider-making influences in it. Elements of bread (likely from the yeast) in the aftertaste.Made with champagne yeast for 12 months in the bottle after being barrel-aged,
