Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma overall. Strong cranberry smell with sweet and tart apple notes.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. Quick, strong cranberry flavours that are both sweet and slightly tart. Sweet apple undertones. Some bitter notes.
After Taste: Cranberry continues strongly. Apple becomes a bit more obvious then dissipates, leaving a semi-dry finish. A gritty sugar residue that lingers in the mouth and teeth.
On ice: Almost the same on ice. Maybe slightly less sweet though.
Additional Notes: Thornbury’s Cranberry Cider is a sweeter offering than their original craft cider, that is almost just an alcoholic cranberry juice. With cranberry being the dominate flavour, apple is most definitely the secondary flavour in the drink. Very full bodied and fruity – with a heavier mouth feel – it would go well with a holiday turkey dinner. A great substitution for a vodka cranberry cocktail.
