Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Acidic, pulpy and bright tannic notes
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Dry funky, pulpy apples that have some creamy elements to it. Some acidic and acetic notes. A lot of crabapple undertones. Slightly cellared/funky tasting. Punchy astringency and sourness.
After Taste: Becomes more dry in the aftertaste with some gritty elements. Sourness lingers but weakens. Funk notes remain awhile. Slight buttery aftertaste.
On ice: Carbonation greatly reduced. Some punchy elements lessened.
Additional Notes: The Salvaje by Steel Town is as hard to describe as its name is to say. A funky cider without many harsh notes with a creamy, acetic, crabapple-like base. Not overly long lingering but a bit of a slightly buttery aftertaste. It has a lot of unique notes, but still has that Steel Town edge. Not a beginner cider, but something that could definitely open up a palate. Spanish sidra essences. Salvaje translates to ‘Wild’ in Spanish.
