Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Sweet, candied pineapple. Squeeze of lime.
Initial Taste: Medium bite. Light and semi-sweet pineapple with a base smooth and clean dessert apple. Touch of lime upfront but more in the end of the aftertaste. Hint of sour.
After Taste: Apple is reduced pretty quickly, some fermented pineapple notes. Lime peel present keeps it from not feeling as sweet in the end.
On ice: Thinner but similar
Additional Notes: The Somersby Pineapple & Lime is a fruit forward offering. Light dessert apples are overpowered by a sweet, candied pineapple. Hint of lime in the aftertaste but this is closer to a sangaria than a cider. Even has a hint of herb/mint in the cool aftertaste. As with most Somersbys, it leans towards the ready to drink side and ice does not impact much.
